Our philosophy is that a Catholic education should be accessible to all children, regardless of their family's ability to pay. The Sponsor-a-Student program matches each donor with a deserving student and family. Through this partnership, donors can annually support students who would otherwise be unable to attend. Every year, there are dozens of children who cannot continue in our Academies as their families struggle with the escalating cost of living in the Bay Area. As a sponsor, you will enable hardworking students to pursue their education in an academically strong, Christ-centered environment.
The general tuition assistance fund provides aid to low-income families who wish to enroll their children in Lumen Christi Academies. Scholarship amounts vary according to annual income, household size, and the number of children enrolled at LCA. The maximum award will not exceed 75 percent of the student’s total annual tuition. Awards are decided by school principals with endorsement from the LCA Executive Director. This program is focused on three of the Academies: St. Elizabeth (Oakland), St Anthony (Oakland) and St. Cornelius (Richmond) where more than 70% of current students qualify for reduced or free school lunches.
