Welcome to the 2025 CYO Track & Field season
- CYO Track and Field will be runnng again in Spring 2024!
- Parish and Catholic School teams will organize early in 2024 with practices may begin after Thursday, February 1, 2024.
- Meets in each of the three CYO Track Sections will begin in mid-March and will be on weekends (except for Easter weekend) leading to the Diocesan Track and Field Championship Meet in May.
- Meet events include sprints, distance races, relays, long jump, shotput, softball throw, high jump, and tetherball toss.
- CYO Track & Field teams represent parishes and Catholic schools in the Oakland Diocese CYO. To sign up, contact your local parish CYO or Catholic school. See below for Parish CYO and Section links.

- Coaches Certification Workshops: March 4, 6, 12
- Section Track Meets begin: Mid-March
- No CYO Activities: Holy Thursday through Easter Sunday, April 17 - 20
- Diocesan Track and Field Meet: Thursday evening, May 8 and Saturday, May 10

Oakland Diocese CYO Track and Field Championship Meet

What is the Diocesan Meet?
- The Oakland Diocese CYO Championship Meet brings athletes together from CYO Track and Field teams in each of the three track sections in the Oakland Diocese. The meet is held on a Thursday evenng and a Saturday in May.
- To be entered in the meet, a CYO participant must qualify at the qualifying meet held at the end of their track section's season.
- The meet begins with a Parade of Athletes followed by opening prayer.
- Over 300 athleles particopate each year in the wide variety of events offered by CYO Track and Field.

The 2024 Diocesan MeetThe 2024 Oakland Diocese Championship Meet was held on Thursday, May 9 at Moreau Catholic High School, Hayward, and on Saturday, May 11 at Granada High School Livermore. Over 500 young CYO runners from our parishes and Catholic schools competed in a variety of sprints, distance races, relays, and field events. The day will begin with a Parade of Athletes and an Opening Prayer Ceremony. See below for a link to results of the meet. (Note that the Tetherball Toss is listed under "other.")
