The 2024 Spring Girls' CYO Basketball season ended with playofffs in May. The playoffs saw close games with crowds packing the gyms as thrity-eight teams, 4th through 8th grades, played in the four day tournament, held at Moreau Catholic High School, Hayward, St Joseph Notre Dame, Alameda, and St. Leander, San Leandro. Four diocesan meet records were broken in the annual Oakland Diocese CYO Track and Field Championshop Meet, held in May at Moreau Catholic High School, Hayward, and Granada High School, Livermore. The Serra Catechetical Institute (SCI) is a one-year formation process for parish and Catholic school catechists, parents, and all adults who want to know their Catholic faith better and be able to hand it on more effectively. Ignatian Companions, a ministry of the Jesuits West Province, is a unique program that invites mature adults to deepen their relationship with God through prayer and service. The program starts with a one-day retreat on Saturday, August 24. Monthly gatherings at the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley are held from September through June.
